Golden Age Air Museum SPAD XIII (Replica) Build 

When James and I embarked on this project, never did we imagine that it would turn into a "photo essay". The result of countless visits to GAAM's restoration hangar were hundreds of photographs. We then began the task of selecting those photographs that would be used for the story.

On September 9th 2023, Golden Age Air Museum pulled back the curtain and officially unveiled their SPAD XXIII (Replica) to the public. The event was held with pomp and circumstance on museum grounds in Bethel PA. It was on this day that the 13th Aero Squadron emblem affectionately known as "Oscar" would be painted on the sides of the SPAD.

On a quiet Fall day, a small group gathered around Golden Age Air Museum's SPAD XXIII (Replica) and gazed at what has been a labor of love for over decade. After a series of taxi tests, it was time for the maiden flight.With final checks complete, museum President Paul Dougherty suited up and climbed in the gorgeous aircraft

On the weekend of June 14th 2004, Golden Age Air Museum held their fifth annual Biplane, Bands and Cruise In. It was there that Full Disc Aviation's James Woodard and Richard Souza, along with FDA collaborator Glenn Riegel (Glenn Riegel Photography) had the opportunity to shoot the museum's SPAD XIII (Replica) after the sun went down.

All things considered; “Yukon Sourdough” was parked in the right spot. As the sun went down, we turned on the lights and went to work. What else were we to do on a Saturday night?

New Garden Flying Field Evening of Aviation

This past June 25th,  the Staff at N57 and an army of volunteers brought the spectacle back to the skies of Chester County Pennsylvania. Sitting a couple of hours within our back yard,  Full Disc Aviation dispatched partners Zulu and Christian and longtime collaborators Glenn Riegel and Joe DiAntonio down to capture the event for posterity.
