I aim for my images and words to evoke the same curiosity and awe I had as a child, to inspire people to learn the history of these amazing airframes, and to encourage those who feel the pull to get involved with aviation, in whatever facet they feel drawn to.

We began working with Dave “Mongo” Tinker and his General Motors/Eastern TBM-3E Avenger “Ida Red”. Soon, I found myself learning how to operate the various hydraulic systems on the airplane like the landing gear, folding wings, cowl flaps, etc.

Since I can remember I have always been fascinated with anything even remotely related to aviation. From its history, the engineering and science, its art, its creativity and the way it has shaped and moulded the world into what we know today.

I never really put the two interests together until I enrolled in Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. It was there where I had the opportunity to buy a Yashika 35mm with 3 lenses for $100.00. A few weeks after my acquisition, I shoot my first air show. The year was 1986.

Every burning passion starts with but a tiny spark. For myself, that spark ignited a flame at the age of three. There I stood, gazing skyward outside my childhood home in awe of six red white and blue aircraft with a large bird emblem gracing the underside of each.

Like so many kids of the 80’s, the movie Top Gun ignited this fire inside of me for aviation. Growing up in the Philadelphia suburbs, near NAS Willow Grove didn’t help. I could always be seen peering out of the windows to catch glimpses of the A-37s, A-10s, A-4s, C-130s, P-3s, and C-5s arriving and departing the base.

From a young age, my eyes have looked skyward. I was fascinated by anything and everything that took part in the wonders of flight. From becoming the youngest member of the Yankee Air Museum as soon as I was born, to being a volunteer crew member on a Douglas A-26 Invader, my journey though aviation has just gotten off the ground.

I took my love of aviation to the U.S. Air Force and asked to have any flying job available. Soon I was signing a contract to be a KC-135 boom operator. This has brought me much closer than I ever imagined to the fast jets that I used to catch on video.

It was at that moment I shifted my mindset on photography to aviation, with the support of so many on social media it has allowed me to achieve better quality images through constructive criticism. I am thankful for all of the people I have met along my journey, traveling from location to location and airshow to airshow.
