geneseo

Zulu recently travelled up to the Finger Lakes region of New York State to attend the National Warplane Museum’s annual airshow. Held at the grass field airport in the town of Geneseo, this show is affectionately known as "The Greatest Show on Turf”. This year's edition brought a lineup, flying, and attendance like it has not seen in recent years. The lineup included: B-25s “Champaign Gal” and “Yankee Warrior”, P-51 “Swamp Fox”, Skipper Hyle in his Harvard MK. IV “J’s Bird”, B-17 “The Movie Memphis Belle” and Charlie Lynch flying the F4U-1D “Godspeed”. Thom Richard brought the TP-40 for its Geneseo Debut. It was fitting that this year D-Day veteran “Whiskey 7” was joined by three other C-47s. If that wasn’t enough, the United States Air Force A-10 Demo Team swooped in and added the additional punch. The true stars of the “Greatest Show on Turf” are undoubtedly the stunning sunrise and breathtaking sunset...they truly are a show unto themselves.
